Ride in Style and Comfort with the Wave eBike Line
The specifications for our electric bikes vary, but take, for example, our flagship original Wave eBike model. This bicycle comes standard with a 48-volt, 750-watt hub motor. This means your electric bicycle’s powerful, low-maintenance motor can propel you at speeds up to 28 mph (within the weight limits of the Wave electric bicycle). Our batteries feature high quality cells, giving you much more riding time compared to the majority of the other electric bicycles on the market. Our tests have proven ranges of over 52 miles on a single charge when using pedal assist for some of our models.
Our Wave electric bikes are completely street legal, allowing you to ride freely no matter where you live, confident that you’re in compliance with the rules of the road. (The one exception is New York, where electric bikes and scooters aren’t street legal, but even there, you can still enjoy the Wave at your local park or on biking trails). The original Wave eBike was built around the concept of a beach cruiser, providing added comfort and durability (not to mention the battery and motor to make it an electric bike). Offered standard with fully cross-functional tires, the Wave eBike allows you to ride through the city, along the beach, and everywhere in between. No matter what your mood or where you might be, the Wave eBike can tackle the terrain of your choice. Sit back and relax with the twist of the throttle and cruise on the fully electric motor, or pedal on your own as you with a classic bicycle. For maximum range, use the hybrid pedal-assist mode, which makes it easier for you to pedal with electric power and thus extends the range of the eBike to its maximum.
Affordable, Reliable Performance in an Electric Bike
Priced well under $1,999 the Wave eBike product line offers you first-class reliability, durability, and product quality that challenges electric bikes costing up to three times as much! What’s more, we’ve taken the time to prove that our electric bicycle can do what we say it can do. Want to take a look for yourself? Our YouTube videos will show you just how easy it is to get the most out of your Wave Electric Bike®, whether you’re interested in full-electric range, breathtaking top speed, or hill-climbing performance power.
Environmentally Friendly Sustainable Performance
You already know that our Wave eBikes offer a noteworthy increase in performance over comparable electric bicycles that cost much more than our Wave series. What you may not realize is that performance translates into better long-term performance at moderate speeds. The top speed of our original Wave eBike model, 28 mph, is pretty fast, yes. What you’ll find, though, is that you experience the most efficient riding at a more moderate 20 mph. This is because electric bicycles, like the Wave eBike, are most efficient when their motors are run at roughly 80 percent of maximum power. This is because, at low speeds, the electric motor isn’t taking advantage of the tremendous power that it has, but at maximum full-out power, the motor is being pushed at the outer edge of its limits, which requires more power and is not quite as efficient. At 80 percent of full power, the motor achieves the best possible results in the compromise between the distance it can travel and the power that it uses to travel that distance.
What this means for you is that in a lesser electric bicycle whose top speed is not nearly 28 mph, 80 percent of the motor’s power will be considerably less than 80 percent of the Wave eBike’s power. This means you’ll be able to go faster for longer over greater distances on our Wave models as compared to the competition. Typical competitors’ e-bikes have maximum speeds of around 20 mph, which means that they are most efficient at maybe 16 mph. Riding them at 100% power output (20 mph) drains their batteries quickly. The Wave e-Bike is most efficient when ridden at 20 mph, which is the perfect speed to cruise all day long.
